What a Summer!

It's been a while since my last blog entry but so much has happened over the summer. The Father's Day Special was a roaring success! I'll be offering that one again next year, in addition to a Mother's Day Special along similar lines.

My biggest news is that I have now added maternity portraits to my repertoire and have had several very successful sessions. I will be posting some images soon so keep an eye on the main website for that...www.staceyfphotography.com.

I've also been working hard on some wonderful specials for fall and the holiday season. If you're interested in what's being offered, drop me an email and I'll be happy to send you the details.

'Ooroo for now! (as we say in Australia)

Fathers' Day Special - Part 2

Due to the overwhelming response I've had to my Fathers' Day Special, I'm going to dedicate the studio for ONE DAY ONLY to the Fathers' Day Portrait Special I'm currently running.

On Saturday 7 June, between 9am and 5pm, clients can bring their children to have their portrait taken for Dad for Fathers' Day.

Clients receive up to a 20 minute session (5 images to choose from) and an 8x10" portrait in time for Fathers' Day on Sunday 15 June. Framing is available at an additional cost so make my studio your 1-stop-shop for Fathers' Day! Other portrait sizes are also available.

Bookings are limited to call or email today to reserve your spot!

Fathers' Day Special

Fathers' Day is fast approaching and Dads can sometimes be very difficult people to buy for. Dads, just like Mums, would love a good picture of their little munchkin(s) to put on their desk at work.

I'm currently running a Fathers' Day Portrait Special. For a fraction of my normal sitting fee I'm offering clients a shorter session (only 20 minutes rather than an hour) and including an 8x10" portrait into the price.

If that sounds like something you might like for the Dad in your life, call or email the studio today! Bookings are limited and Fathers' Day is only 3 short weeks away.

New Endeavours Part 2

Well I did the portrait booth at the school I mentioned in my last entry. It went very well! It was an exciting opportunity! I hope to release a few images shortly (still awaiting model releases).

The day was stinking hot (another Aussie expression). I think it maxed out about 100F (38C)! Of course, being Australian, I'm used to the heat but it did make for hard work on the computer's part. Still, it all went off without a hitch and I got a good number of happy clients.

I'm certainly looking forward to having the booth again at Halloween.

That's all for now!

New Endeavours

Life has certainly been busy lately! In fact, I've been going flat out like a lizard drinking (sorry, Aussie expression).

A new venture is in the wind. I've recently booked to hold a portrait booth at a local school fair in May. I'm very excited about the opportunity!

I just photographed this past weekend two sisters who attend the school and am absolutely thrilled with the results. Take a look:

The booth should be a really fun exercise for the kids and their parents alike!

Newborn Portraits

I love photographing babies. I recently created these newborn portraits and had such fun doing so.

I'm always honoured when families approach me to create these precious memories!
This little girl was such a character. My "signature image", as I call it, is a classic foetal (yes, Aussie spelling) position on a towel. This little girl absolutely refused to tuck her knees up under her tummy! The mother thought it was hillarious! We got the images in the end. Babies will sleep through just about anything!

Enjoy these couple of images.

Welcome to my Blog!

Ok so this is a first for me. I've never done a blog before so this should be an interesting exercise!

I'm now back in the hotseat after taking a 6 month break to have my second child. I'm really excited to start photographing again!

My goals for this year: Get Certified! PPA (Professional Photographers of America) offers an intensive certification course, at the end of which, you become a Certified Professional Photographer. It's like attaining a degree. The examination consists of two parts: a written exam and submission of images to a panel of judges for review.

Another goal of mine is to work on a personal project, "a day in the life". For this project, I want to photograph families at home doing what they do during a normal day. Obviously, I won't spent an entire day with them but the aim is to capture them at play, kids helping mum with the gardening, washing the car with dad, cooking dinner, etc. It's a very photojournalistic approach.

So there it is; my first blog. Till the next one...!
